The HELP Center for LGBT Health and Wellness is the only place in Texas where anyone who needs it can get PrEP & PEP at no charge. We’re committed to helping keep our community healthy. Eliminating the financial barriers many people face in accessing PrEP & PEP is one way we’re doing that. No matter your age, race, gender, income level, or if you’re insured or uninsured…there are never any charges for our services.

PrEP stands for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis and is currently the best method available to take control of your HIV status. It’s a daily medication taken by HIV-negative individuals that can lower your chances of getting HIV by 99%. Our primary focus for our program is towards gay & bisexual men. They are at the highest risk of contracting HIV and make up 70% of all new diagnoses in the United States.
After your initial appointment, you will need to return to our HELP Clinics for follow up services every three months. Our clinical staff will conduct bloodwork, STD tests and monitor any side effects you may be experiencing which are rare & typically minor.

PEP or Post-Exposure Prophylaxis is a 28 day antiretroviral treatment for patients who have a possible HIV exposure to prevent them from becoming invected. PEP should only be used in emergency situations and is only effective if started within 72 hours of an HIV exposure. Contact us immediately if you think you have been exposed to HIV.
Prescribing Information
PEP appointments must be in-person at one of our clinics.
You must call to schedule due to the constrained timeline for the medication to be effective.
You must provide a current ID.
Our PEP services are completely free of charge. For insured patients, your insurance must be processed before the remaining costs are covered.
