HELP distributes more than 100,000 free condoms each year to our community. 60% of gay men in Tarrant County reported not having a condom when they needed one within the past year. This lack of condom availability is a major factor in risk-taking behavior. Condoms are a highly effective strategy to help prevent the sexual transmission of HIV when used consistently and correctly.
We distribute FREE condoms to area gay bars, local organizations serving the gay community, through our Condom of the Month program, and our online condom store. Condoms and lube can also be picked up at both of our clinic locations in Fort Worth and Arlington.
HELP has expanded access to free condoms via our new online condom store. The new initiative is aligned with the finds of the Gay Community Health Assessment demonstrating more individuals are seeking online access to condoms. Individuals living in or around Tarrant County will be able to order 24 condoms and individual lube packets from our website and mailed to their homes (or packaged for pick up). Orders will be filled within three working days and mailed free of charge.
*Individuals requesting free condoms will be required to complete an order form that will include demographic information and sexual orientation. A voice/email verification protocol will be established to ensure the identity of the individual requesting condoms can be tracked.
COMC is a program were clients can register to receive 12 specialty condoms and 12 lube packets for FREE on a monthly basis. Condoms and Lubes are mailed discreetly to client home addresses.
Condom bowl distributions are refilled weekly and are currently available at Club Reflections, Club Changes, Urban Cowboy, Chat Room, Main @ South Side Bar, Acute Gay Salon, Celebration Community Church, Walgreen’s Community Pharmacy, TCU, Aurora Clinic, T.C.C.C, UTA, and 1851 Bar (Arlington)
*Temporary condom distributions are available throughout the year during special events.
