The HELP Center is excited to announce the launch of our HELP Center Counseling Services program.
At HELP, we believe that compassionate, thorough, personalized care is your right. Your empowerment is our priority. HELP is dedicated to providing the resources and knowledge you need to not simply survive, but thrive.
The HELP Center Counseling Program is committed to making mental wellness accessible by eliminating financial and social barriers and offering professional and experienced counselors familiar with the issues and concerns of the LGBT+ populations. All of our counseling programs come at no cost to our clients.
We believe that providing trauma-informed and patient-centered care not only benefits the individual but strengthens our families and communities.
Individual Counseling
At the HELP Center, you may participate in private one-on-one therapy sessions with licensed professional counselors who specialize in serving the LGBT+ community. Counselors assist clients with a wide range of therapy options, including crisis, behavioral, and trauma therapy, as well as transgender wellness counseling.
Length of Treatment
All HELP Counseling Services start with a brief therapy framework of 6-8 session increments – a model often used by insurance companies. Clients requiring more prolonged treatment but who have limited options for accessing services from another provider may work with Counselors to determine if additional sessions are warranted and within the financial constraints of our program.
Group Counseling
Group therapy sessions are held once a month on Saturday afternoons. Groups are developed based on identified community requirements and include members with similar needs and characteristics. These support sessions provide a powerful, enriching experience that helps individuals contend with many unique mental health issues. A combination of “open” groups and “closed” groups will be held depending upon the best practices for the type of group and numbers of participants. Sign-ups for open groups will be published on our website and social media pages.
