SIGN UPWhy Pap Smears Matter
A pap smear is a quick test that looks for abnormal cells in the cervix that could develop into cervical cancer. When combined with HPV testing, it’s one of the most effective ways to detect changes early and protect your health.
Pap Smear 101
Who should get Pap smears?
Most people with a cervix should start at age 21
Ages 21–29: every 3 years with a Pap test
Ages 30–65: every 3 years with Pap test OR every 5 years with Pap + HPV test
Those with higher risk may need more frequent screening
What to expect:

Some mild discomfort is possible, but it should not be painful
Results are usually available within 7 days
When to get tested:
Even if you feel healthy
Even if you’ve had the HPV vaccine
Regularly, according to guidelines or your provider’s advice
